Color Theory Write-Up

Color Theory Write-Up

Primary Colors:
Red Yellow Blue OR Red Green Blue

Secondary colors are created when two primary colors are combined, i.e. Red + Blue = Purple.
Tertiary colors are created when two secondary colors are combined, i.e. green and orange combine to make a color that I have absolutely have no idea what its called.
Subtractive and Additive color models
Light generated colors add color when combined.
Pigment generated colors subtract color when combined.

Color affects our perception of depth depending on whether it’s dark or light, dark colors regress while light colors advance towards the viewer.

Shade and Tint
When black is added to a color, it’s called a shade, it makes it dark. When white is added to a color, its called tint and makes it lighter.
